I've got all the pieces to build a new CrewCab chassis so I'm going to toss this out there and see if any one wants it. This is what you get:

1967 C20 LWB chassis that has been lenghthened by 33" underneath the cab (a 160" wheelbase:crazy: ). It's got H052 rearend (supposedly 5.14 gears although I never verified). 4 16" chrome wheels and 1 steel spare. Complete front and rear suspension. I'll even throw in the 283 and the 4 speed tranny. $500 o.b.o. Oh, and no shipping :D.

Just a couple questions before I say "heck yeah I'll take it". Any title? Will a 6 footer fit on the back? I am sold on it pending answers. Thanks, Mike

Title stays with the cab. It is set up for a long bed.

Thanks Rob.Would have to alter my plan considerably. Keep me in mind if it doesn't sell. Would be worth the trip I'm sure. Take care, Mike

What is your plan? I'm sure we can work something out. I may be able to come up with a standard cab/title for some more $. Let me know.

Re: 1967 C20 CrewCab chassis

I will try to do Cliffs notes. The basic plan is to do a "sleeper" cab using 2 opposing rear halves, (separate from the front cab) but I want to use a 6 footer (already have one) to keep the overall length down. I would LIKE to go with rear coils, but I realize all the EXISTING long frames will be leaf, so I will have to decide whether I want to lengthen a coil frame, or convert a leaf one. I have got to finish my 4-door Burb project first (among others) before I dive into this one the rest of the way, so I am looking to the future at this point. So if you don't sell this one to somebody who really needs it, I would like you to at least keep me in mind. I will be coming that way for a conference in AUG with the Air Force, so swinging up to the panhandle would not be out of the question. Thanks for listening, Mike

Mike,

Where are you going to in FL? My frame already has coil springs. I could shorten the rear of the frame to accept the SWB if you wanted, but I would think that you would want to do it yourself so that you could match everything up. Are you interested in a cab? I lead on one that I'm looking at this weekend, it's actually a complete truck minus the bed. I should also have a SWB frame that is blasted and coated in POR 15, if you are interested. I've got enough stuff to make your trip worthwhile. :D

If my math is correct, if you put a regular cab on and a 6' bed on, that will leave you about 45" to build your sleeper. Something like this, sorry, but my photoshop skills are pretty weak, :o ,:) .

I'm sure if you posted this in the PS section, someone over there could do a much better job than this. I was just playing around to see if this was the concept you were talking about. Do you need pictures of the other parts?

Instead of stretching the cab, why not stretch the front end, :D.
