had an idea
about 3 years back i had a buddy of mine take his 68 chevy truck bed and put and angle in it like a stationwagon had in the rear door.
Has anyone else thought about this of have seen some one do it to our year truck. I dont have any pictures of his but it was cool to see when he was done |
Re: had an idea
Actually i have thought of this mod quite a few years ago when i was in the junk yard one day and came across an old Vista Cruiser and opened the tail gate both ways still worked.
But it won't really work so well on a stepper and it would take some work to make it work on a fleety. I havent seen it anywhere on any truck, But that dosen't mean it hasn't been done. It would deffinatlly be a kool mod if you could pull it off. |
Re: had an idea
You mean like an El Camino?

Re: had an idea
i guess if you like the look it would be ok but for functionality it doesnt work at all.. i have an 8 ft bed cause sheetrock and plywood come in 8 ft lengths and the more i can get in there the better off i am

Re: had an idea
simalar to an el camino but more slant. like to old wood grain wagons from the 80s/ 90s.
My buddies truck had the slant of the glass about an i think 45 degree angle or 35 cant remember right off hand. |
Re: had an idea
Are you talking about the tailgate or the back of the cab on the truck? If you mean the back of the cab, I'm pretty sure I've seen cab extensions that have the rear glass angled into the bed.

Re: had an idea
no of the bed. if look at the side of our truck it goies like this | well my friend goes like this (front rear\) just a thought

Re: had an idea
Oh i misunderstood what you were talking about as well.
I was talking about how the old wagons from the 60's & 70's had tailgates that opened sideways like a door and down like a truck tailgate. |
Re: had an idea
that would be cool to see as well. My buddy welded his shut permentely. i thought it to be a dumb idea cause the bed useless then.
