autolite plugs in a in a chevy

i use autolite 25s in my 350. a few people say that you should only use them on fords. is this true? what would be the best plug to use on my 350?

AC/Delco was stock in all GM engines. I used Champions for years, but since they went to Mexico a couple of years ago -- they sucked. I went back to AC spark plugs and got good results.
Autolites, I have no experience with. I can't knock 'em since I don't know from experience. They sell them everywhere. Honeywell makes Autolites.

If they only belong if Fords, why do they make applications for Chevys? It`s your preference. That said,I use ACs because they were original and have had good results.I figure everything else electrical is AC/Delco.A guy put Autolites in my Harley when I had problems away from home, once. That bothered me,I`m just anal:lol:.

I run Autolite platinums and never had any problems. I think mine are AP26.

autolite 24 or 25 are great plugs in most applications. NGK are better in big cam situations. Never use bosch platinum in a 350 or anything else either.

Re: autolite plugs in a in a chevy

I have run Autolites with no problems, though I typically use ACs. The only plugs that gave me trouble (years back) were Champions. I use the cdowns method when buying plugs. ;)

I'm not a fan of Autolite. Give me Bosch Platinum anyday.

autolites work best to me. never use anything with the word accell. their wires suck, the plugs suck, and they sell coils, caps, rotors.. don't buy their stuff

I never use Champion, Autolite or A/C Delco. Never used a platinum plug, are they worth the price???

Re: autolite plugs in a in a chevy

platinum is junk unless used in computer controlled vehicles. I always run AC R45TS

Only Autolite's for me, have ran them in everything I own that takes a spark plug for better than 20 years now.......

Re: autolite plugs in a in a chevy

When I was running my little 440hp mouse motor in my 64 vette it would pound sparkplugs like eating candy. A buddy of mine who was running a strong 400 in his Vette told me to try the Autolites because they worked so well for him.I tried Autolite plugs and NEVER looked back. For me, they are superior to any other. I'm using Autolite AP605 plantinums in my vortec heads now. Of course thats just my experience, other plugs probably would have worked just as well but I'm not going to change as long as they work good for me. :metal:

Check out the box labels. Almost everything AC Delco makes comes from Mexico.

My Dad had an old elcamino with about 400,000 miles on the original motor. It burned more oil that gas. Autolites worked great for him in that truck. He swore by them:)

I have used Autolites for years, but I stay away from Champions. I wont even run them in my lawnmower.

About 15 years ago, I had a Champion plug lose the electrode and insulator in a little 4 banger . I sent them a letter stating I wasnt too happy spending 450 bucks because their product failed....

They sent me a nice form letter telling me they dont warranty plug in high performance vehicles and a coupon for 4 more Champion plugs!

Re: autolite plugs in a in a chevy

I've ran just about everything. I like AC's. The Platnum AC's are sposda be one of the best plugs out there but they're like $10. I am also a fan of NGK.
I lot of people that I know that also race seem to like those.

But honestly, IMHO getting the gap right is more important than the brand.

I use only AC R45S in my 350. dropped a valve in my last engine and the plug still worked ( after I pryed the tip off the electrode!):metal:

Ive had best luck with Autolites. Ive run most all brands over the years, but Ive found Autolites work the best for

Autolite AP26's - work fine-but gonna change to NGK's and see how they work. Does anyone know how hot the 26's are (relatively)? Medium hot?
