How much should I have Paid ????
1 Attachment(s)
I recently bought this 1985 Scottsdale from my neighbor. It has a 305 with a165 kms and is fully converted to run on propane (.49/liter). Just wondering what you think I should of paid for it? I think you will be surprised when tell you.

Re: How much should I have Paid ????
Hmmn, assuming the interior is as good as the outside, and that it at least has tilt & air- I'd say $2600 US around here. A 305 with high miles & propane knock the value hard IMO. But it wouldn't bother me much, I like the propane & would build a motor for it anyway :metal:

Re: How much should I have Paid ????
$1000 US maybe
|
Re: How much should I have Paid ????
Around here just based on the body alone it would go for at least $2500. Not many propane vehicles up here though.

Re: How much should I have Paid ????
id say id pay 3000.00 us
|
Re: How much should I have Paid ????
that would go for around 3 k around here i would guess.i think big truck sales have slowed with gas at about 3.40 a gallon here.so the propane may be a plus if it's still cheaper than gasoline.in more normal gas price situations the propane would detract from the value around here.

Re: How much should I have Paid ????
i would say around 2500. the propane would be nice since we are at 1.12 a litre here.

Re: How much should I have Paid ????
Im going to say $3500 to $4500 Canadian. That truck sure looks in great shape.
BTW second hand propane conversion kits are worth over $1000 and with gas being what it is 305 propane motor would be great. Plus its a half ton two wheel drive so its not like you really need bigger power. Anyway im soon doing the body on my truck and im not a body man. So im probable going to be looking at $5000 to $6000 just to get my truck looking like yours. $4500 is a good deal if that truck is as good as it looks. See it all depends on where you buy it. In Alberta I see lots of 2 wheel drive 73 to 87 going really cheap at auctions but they dont look as good as the one your showing us in the picture. If that truck was 4 wheel drive it would be worth a lot more. If it was one ton or 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive it would be worth even more. |
Re: How much should I have Paid ????
I would say somewhere around 2500 $ us for it. Awesome looking truck!

I have heard that you get more power but you get less mileage. But I have no personal experience. I also heard that since propane is so much cleaner to run (less carbon?) your engines last longer, require less maintenance, fewer oil changes, etc. Not trying to derail the thread but want to get the skinny on LP. |
Re: How much should I have Paid ????
The knock on propane is that it is a pita. Not easy to fill up just anywhere.
It would bring maybe $2k without the propane setup if it is as minty as it looks- not that I wopuld pay that. SWB truck bring higher money, especially in the 1/2 ton 2wd class. I live in the south usa, but wouldn't a lwb 2wd be a pain in winter weather? Also, you didn't mantion anything about rust. |

Around here, that is at least a $3000 truck if the interior looks good and it runs well. It would be higher if it was a SWB. Slonaker |

OK so how much did you pay??? |
Re: How much should I have Paid ????
I'd say $2,500 around here if it weren't running on propane.

I'm seriously considering propane for my '72 K20 500 Cad build. 10.5 compression will be great on propane. But I will have to run 2 carbs because they only flow somewhere around 425 cfm. Mileage suffers big time if you run one close to max cfm at cruising speed or pulling hills or a heavy load. I don't make long trips with it, so refueling shouldn't be a problem. |
Re: How much should I have Paid ????
:agree: with just about everything above except a few points but that could be because i think we may set our systems up slightly different over here in Australia. I wouldn't want to hijack the thread cos it would take to much to explain what I run on my performance motors.
BTW It would be worth at least an easy $5000US if it was over here in Australia |
Re: How much should I have Paid ????
ive seen trucks that nice go in excess of $2000 here personally id have paid about $12-1500 US for it assuming it looks as good up close as it does in the pics
