Dazed & Confused

After a couple weeks, they finally got some of the new die cast up to the Minnesota area. I was able to find some at a couple different Walmarts. I got extras of each size (1/87, 1/64 & 1/24 scale). I'm needing some of the newer johnny lightning blazers, such as the blue one, the yellow one and the white forest service one. I just never see any of them around here.

My Walmart has only had the 1/24.It`ve passed on it,just doesn`t fly for me,I dunno.I`d get the smaller ones if I found them.I really wish they had done a better job on the wheels. They look like`90s GM alloys.

I have to agree man, those wheels were just sad. I still bought one of course.

I agree, they are almost 20 bucks and dont look that great. They should have put the Slot mags like the truck in the movie.

Or rally's like the Highway 61 Black truck

The 1/64's and 1/87's are better for some reason.

The Dub City 1/24 looks better for the same money.

However, I waited until my wife got home from work to take out the 1:24 (i was debating on leaving it in the box) to show it to her and take a look for myself. I noticed immediately that there were 3 dings in the hood. After noticing this I took a closer look and it seems that the hood and doors went through a rougher process than the chassis because they looked like someone took a fine grit sand paper to them. Hopefully there is another one at the Wally mart that I got this one from so I can swap it out. I will defiantly take a closer look at it before I leave the store though.

Hey FleetsidePaul, where did you get that large (1/16) stamped steel Stepside?I bought the 4 different plants at a swap meet a good while back and have never seen them come up.I know they made a plain red one, too.I`ve been wanting to dig them out to get the info on the company and contact them about these. Is there contact info on the box?
About these 1/24s.I was going to get one and customize it,but even the 18-20 bucks they cost is alot to my budget these days.Makes you real picky.I don`t like the side moulngs being all silver. In my eye, they seem a bit under 1/24,too.I`d have to get one home by another 1/24 to be sure.

The first 1/24 I picked up, the hood fell off it inside the box. Another had white specs on the paint. It might have been dust, but didn't really look like it. As far as scaling goes, it doesn't really matter to me. I collect them because I like the trucks and would like to get an example of all of them made. I still need to get a few of those JL blazers, the Hwy 61 trucks and the promo trucks, and the American Muscle step side too. Don't have the several hundred laying around to get those just yet. But as long as there is ebay, somebody will be selling them.

They have a lot of the 1/24's around here. I have one, and a bunch of the smaller ones They are too pricey for me to buy any more. The little ones are cheap enough to stock up on.

Special K, I got the steel stepside on Ebay, and have seen others from time to time, but they were from the same plant (Fremont) as the one I have, I'm still looking for the others.

I'm getting a little picky about the ones I get now because I'm running out of room.
