Can any of you rig up a pipe line to get some of your $3 gas across the Pond to England. It's hit $9 here and it hurts. Going to Mexico on holiday soon so I may forefit my duty free allowance, and bring back gas instead!!:help:

We have a bulletin board at work that we put a Norrisism of the day on. Here is yesterdays. "Due to rising gas prices, Chuck Norris is beginning to rethink his drinking habit." I know it's not the best Norrisism but it fits.

You want really cheap fuel? Get a deisel and run it on used cooking oil that you can get for free from restaurants etc. Make sure you filter it well and it WILL gel up in winter temps. Saw this one on "mythbusters"!

Re: gas prices

Robins williams has a 10 step plan to save the US economy. #7 relates to this issue:

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)
For the other 9- PM me and I send it. Jerry

Re: gas prices

I think they just raise gas prices when people complain about the price to show them how much they can charge if they want.
It seems like the only real explination to me

Re: gas prices

I read an article that claimed it takes as much energy to produce BioDiesel as we get out of it. So the gross energy out minus the energy required to cultivate the crops, refine it, and get it to market equals zero net gain, and possibly a net loss...

As far as fuel prices go, everyone wants to blame Big Oil but if you've taken any economy classes you know that the market (supply/demand) sets the price. One exception to that is taxes. Did you know that the tax revenue on gas/oil in this country is GREATER than the private sector profit margins?
