looking for garage floor paint
 

hey yall, wanting to paint the floor before the giant safe comes in, i am looking for the grey floor paint with hte antiskid stuff that you mix into it or toss onto the top surface so i can seal it from moisture transfer and any oil/grease stains not seeping into the concrete

. all i can find is just basic latex paint or the moisture seal drylock stuff. if yall could find it online at home depot/ lowes / ACE .

me and my bro painted a friend of the families garage floor with the basic stuff from lowes and it looks good and she likes it and says its not as slippery as before, and it had the paint flecks in it

Look at the website for U Coat It products. It is the best I have seen so far.

I used the Rustoleum brand stuff from Lowes. Looks great and so far has held up very well. It has the paint flakes in it and you can add the no skid beads to it as well

I put down the Rustoleum ExpoxyShield Garage Floor Paint just over a year ago and I've really been impressed. It's held up VERY well - brake fluid, trans fluid - you name it, nothing's put a dent in it. Reasonably priced, too!

There are a couple of caveats:
- Gotta have the concrete CLEAN
- It really takes two coats IMHO
- You CANNOT drive on it for a week just like the instructions say
- DEFINITELY need the "no skid" additive

I tried a sample size of the U Coat stuff and it appeared to be excellent as well - but the price difference was substantial; more than double the Rustoleum stuff even with two coats.

i used the epozy shield stuff on a friends and they love it if i had to do mine id do that

I love my Epoxy Shied also:metal: . My before and after shots!:) It has blue, black and white chips in it.

have Rhino lining stop by they have gray.Be a tuff floor cover?

I just had the floor of my new garage professionally done with anti-slip epoxy by a local company called Westcoat. The finished product looks surperb. The prep involved was:1). Grind off the surface of the concrete with a diamond-studded grinder. 2). fill any chips or cracks in the concrete w/epoxy filler. 3). Bead blast the entire floor. 4). Apply first base color coat of epoxy. 5). Rough up base coat epoxy with a floor sander. 6). Apply thicker color coat of epoxy and sprinkle with silicate non-slip. 7). Apply clear-coat sealer over entire surface. The entire process took 4 days and the results are fantastic. It has a 5 year unconditional warranty against any chipping, peeling, cracking,etc. Even though this company is in SoCal, they have reps. all over the country. I had just over 800 sq. feet of concrete done at about $3.00 per sq. foot.

for the Epoxy shield it has instructions included. Sweep floor, mop floor, clean with a mild acid etch they provided using a stiff brissel brush. LEt that dry over night and then swept it again before applying the paint

I used the stuff below for my etch. The instructions with the EpoxyShield are really good - and following them exactly seems to be the formula for success.
