Help with Choke

 I have an 86 Silverado with a 400 SB with a Q-Jet and when i leave it set for 3 or 4 days when I start it it idles rough and acts like it's missing for about a minute and then it smooths out. It has an electric choke and have tried to adjust it and it didn't help it. Would I be better off the put a manuel choke on it or what?

Re: Help with Choke

just pull the electric choke str8 off...thats what I did on my 76...worked fine then (other than the fact that I had to plunge the foot feet to get her to start after that...

manual choke does exactly what you tell it to do, when you tell it to do it. A manual choke is better than no choke at all, and in my opinion better than electric choke too.
