The Journey....1954, 5 window build from Fla.
Thought I might share some info and pics with those of you who are interested in a ground-up build of a 54-5 window 3100.
It's been 1500 hours of fun and a couple bucks in change but I've transformed this ole Georgia farm truck into an Old Skool cruiser. The "core" was "rougher than three nights in a Georgia Jail"....rust, neglect, a little side-hill engineering tossed in too boot. My goal was to build a truck that would safely cruise, give me some old school performance and some reasonable fuel mileage. The 235 was retained but extensively worked....dynamic balanced and of course dual carbs and split headers, coupled with a T5 transmission w/.72 5th gear and a 3.42 GM diff. She'll cruise all day at 70 @ 2000 rpms and I'm working towards 20 mpg. I'll try to add a couple pics...if you like what you see you can click on my link at the bottom and follow my build from the start. Dave:cool: |

I was looking through the pics last night and you did a lot on that thing. I can't wait until I get ours together so that we can drive it.

Cool! Nice to see another '54 build. I personally like the '54 grille the best. Not to mention the cool windshield.
