Too add to my first post...They came out in 71,On both the 2wds and 4wds.The 70s were close to having discs up front.They converted to a open knuckle axle but kept the drums for the 70 year and finally in 71 they upgraded all trucks,burbs,panels,blazers,jimmys to discs.

Thanks for the info. Someone locally has a 69 for sale. I think I'll probobly pass.

If you are going to pass just because of the drums,don't let that stop you.Chevys and GMCs had disc brake front axles from 73-87 and up to 90(?) in some cases.Just buy one and bolt it in.Just some brake upgrades and some other minor stuff and you have discs!

Pretty easy upgrade, if you really like the truck buy it and do the mod.
