Attention Kansas City: KnowThis Truck?
 

There probably isn't anyone in the Kansas City area who hasn't heard about the Kelsey Smith kidnapping but if you're from the area and haven't seen the video of the "70's model pickup truck" take a look. Maybe you know this truck? Maybe someone's got a better link to a video than mine- it's not too clear but looks like one of our models.

Well according to the KC news reports they just found the body of the poor girl. I hope they catch the bastard and fry his ass.

My prayers go out to her family, and I hope they catch the person responsible and soon. She was abducted about 1.5 miles from where I work.

I have first hand knowledge of losing your daughter and there is nothing worse. Hopefully when he gets to his extended stay facility his new neighbors carry out justice. Very, very slowly.

They just found a body in the woods on the Missouri side of Kansas City. My heart felt prayers go out to the family as well.

Well, It is official. They found and identified that poor girls body. This is very sad indeed. Hopefully they will catch the people who did it.

I just saw the video on the news for the first time and immediately thought the truck was a 69-72 chevy, but now I'm wondering if it's a 73-79.
What do you all think?
I'm sure they will enhance the photo better than that.

I saw a clip that showed the front grill for a second and I thought maybe a 67 or 68. I guess the exact year of the turck is academic now. When I posted this they hadn't yet found her. I was hoping we might pull off a miracle and give police something they could use. Nothing to do now but pray for comfort for the family and justice for guilty.

they arrested a subject last night, I saw the press release on that, I think the truck with the enhanced video looks like a 74-78 model.. what a loss of a young life!

I looked again, trying to freeze the video as it went by. I think it is a post 72 model.

I studied the video of the truck hard when it first came out. IMO, there is no doubt it is a '83- '84 GMC. It's tough to make out, but the door mirror, front fender line, and especially the grille & headlights are what makes me think this. If you pause the right shot of it just as it comes up to the pole turning into the isle, you can see the single horizontal and double vertical grille bars with dual "stacked" headlights. Only GMC's have a grille like that. But I must be wrong- Johnny Dare, the find Kelsey website, and two different detectives I talked to on the phone just brushed me off.

He was turned in by his next door neighbor. He recognized the truck and the guys face on the video. Said he helped him work on it. The suspect has a wife & kid.
