Help with bumper install
I feel like a dummy, but I'm having a hell of a time getting my bumpers on.
I'm using my old front bumper on the rear of my suburban, because I was told by several dealers they are the same, front and rear, for the burbs. Mine is a 53 BTW I didn't want to take the brackets off, but I cannot get the holes to line up at all. It seems to "spring" when not installed. I tried to pry it, and no go. Is there a trick? or do I have to take the brackets off no matter what? Thanks |
Re: Help with bumper install
How far off are they? Trying loosening the brackets. If you dont want to do that, line up one of the holes and put a bolt in it. Then use a really BIG pry bar to torque the brackets to line up the rest of the holes. You may need two people to do this.

Re: Help with bumper install
On one of my other trucks I had a hard time also, so I just put them on with some 3/8" Grade 8, put them on loose and line them up then tighten one at a time
