they are setup with a relay and they used to come on/off on all by themself now they wont come one unless i take the cover off the relay and squeeze the contacts together

the temp gauge works fine and i have a new temp sending unit and replaced the relay with a new one to no avail

these were on here when i got the truck and i dont know much about them what elses is in line to make these things work

i have replaced a couple blown fuses but still not working

any ideas and thanks in advance

Re: electric fan troubles

Check the relay ground wire,make sure it's not corroded.

If all the connections look ok just replace the relay.

NOS=New Old Stock

New Old Stock

Parts that were made but not sold when the manufacture was making replacement parts.

I think

NOS - New Old Stock, it new parts that havent been sold by the OEM (Origional equipment manufacturer) and are usually bought up at auction by aftermarket supplier. They would be genuine OEM parts.

As for your relay, sounds like up arn't getting the control power to the relay to actuate it. When you squeeze it you make the contacts between the power wire inside. Check the wire going to Term 85 on the relay. It should have 12 volys when the relay is suppost to engerize. Term 30 should be hooked up to battery power, Term 86 should go to ground (the temp sensor) and Terminal 87 should go to your fans. Check all this out, repair any discrepancies found.
