18,19,20's wheel size.

hey guys

I have been reading the 18 to 20 stager thread cause i am planing on putting one of the 2 diferant wheels i my truck also. i am running dot drag slicks in the back so the front tires is all i am worried about. my truck is going to sit 4 inches off the ground with whatever size tire i go with. need to figure out size now cause i am building the heidts front end for it. i like the 20's better they will match my 31's in back better, but if they are to hard to fit up front with lowered front end then i might have to go the 18 rout.

anyways could you guys post pictures of your 18's and 20's with tire sizes.

thanks andrew

I am going to run 18's and 20's myself. I like the 22's and 20's, but I can't afford to replace the tires.:(

18's just look too small in the front wheel opening. I will be running 20's all the way around

Personally, I wouldn't even consider 19's. Pretty much the only factory vehicle that came with them was a Crossfire. Not a lot of sizes in 19's are available. I think there may even be more sizes of 20's than 18's, but there is usually a considerable cost differences between the two.

I'm doing the 18, 20 stagger look and ordered my wheels last week. I could have went with 20x8.5's all the way around. It was a tough desision

No rubbing issues at all, even when dumped. It can be driven like that - I don't, but I could if I had to. Go to the link in my sig and all the sizes and more pics are there.

i think there is more then just crossfires unning 19's, i know for a fact some bmw m3's have them... Not saying they are as popular as 16's,17's, 18's or 20's but they are on some factoy cars.

Re: 18,19,20's wheel size.

19s SEVERELY limit your tire/wheel options. Too bad, I prefer subtle and a 19/20 stagger would be just that...

iS 5" BACKSPACING TO MUCH IN THE FRONT?

Re: 18,19,20's wheel size.

There is a lot of options for 19" wheels, but it pushes you into a higher end wheels. Several factory cars are running 19's now including the Corvette, Viper, and I think BMW

Re: 18,19,20's wheel size.

personally, i think 18's and 20s are way too big, and its too noticable.

15 inch up front, with a stock looking sidewall, and 16 out back with an equizalent sidewall to the front.
pizza cutter front tires, and 10 inches or more out back for a width.
just my person opinion.

What size tires and wheels are you running? do have any pics? I would like to get an Idea what my setup would look like?
I have a 2.5 drop spindle in the front and a 4" lowering spring in the rear.

Thanks

Re: 18,19,20's wheel size.

man i just got back from the tire store. all the bigger size tires with any sized sidewall to them are real wide. like 10 inches wide, that sucks. i really would love some 20 inch pizza cutters but they obviously didn't make such a critter.. beings i am drag racing this truck pushing a 20 that is 10 inches wide up front is certainly not going to happen.. definitely going to have to drop to an 18 possibly a 17 i hope i don't have to go old school. not that there is anything wrong with it. i would just like to keep it fresh..

245-40/20's on an 8" wheel. Not the 'pizza cutters' but not 10" wide either. 18's are easier for the drag stuff since Mickey T has a couple of options.

One of the best looking combos I've ever seen was the red LWB that came out of Troys shop. It had 255-40/19's on 19x8.5's up front & 295-40/20's on 20x10's in the back. Freakin' sweet!
