brake line Q
I am hooking up a line lock to my truck.Does the front line on the master cylinder control the front brakes or is it the rear line.
Thanks ,Justin |
Re: brake line Q
The rear line typically feeds the front brakes.

Re: brake line Q
Follow out the line and see. However, it is usually the rear line.

Re: brake line Q
Install the line-lock solenoid on the rear line, and engage it before you apply the brakes - this effectively cuts off the rear circuits and leaves you with front brakes only, you can then do the standard brake-torque trick, however if something goes wrong and the truck starts sliding off and is about to hit something you can just let the brake off and allow it to move then stop it like you normally do. With the typical line-lock installation the front brakes are locked and yer foot is not on the brake, so should something go bad you have to step on the brake, disengage the line lock, the do whatever needs done.
If you think doing a panic stop with only front brakes is not too possible - last Saturday someone pulled in front of me and I had to lay on the brakes, kids in Camaro next to me said rear wheels lifted off the ground! I run front brakes only with 32" swampers and hydro-boost off a big-block '80s Suburban. |
