Finally bit the bullet and got it done.
Went with the long tube coated hedmans, flowmaster 40's.
I thought I was going to hate the sound at cruise, but it sounds good. As for the tips, I went with the ovals, and not spread too far.
When talking with the guy at the shop, I have known him for a little while, he restyores classic trucks and cars, he has had several of these trucks, and assured me I would be happy with the long tubes, I expressed concerns about ground clearance, he said not to worry. I have been driving it for 2 days everywhere around town, no problems yet. If I do start bottoming out, I guess we will go with a shorty or 3/4 length. The only thing I don't like is the long tubes are a little low, but I do have about 5" clearance, and they did not put my a/c -alt support brackets back on, which I did not even notice until taking these pics. Have to deal with that this week.
I know, I need to get some new plug wires...soon.

How much is your truck dropped?

Re: Got exhaust installed

i guess like 5/6 or close to it.
3" spindles 2" springs, and flip kit out back.

totally forgot about that. You have a good eye.
I traded my step bumper with a board member. Got it put on, and moved it in about 1.5"

Looks really good! Thanks for the pictures. I am thinking about that same style rear bumper for my 78. I have stock manifolds on my truck, 2.5" aluminized pipe with 50 Series Flows and stock style rear tail pipes.

I just orders some Hedman Elites and Super 40s for my 72 C10. They have a 3/8" mounting flange. Looks like your headers have the thick flange too.

Sweet setup:metal: , like the way you did the tips closer together, do they make those headers with the AIR fittings???

Not sure if this fits your application but these Hedmans have the AIR set up. Very expensive too.:(

I could not get under the truck to measure, so I did the best I could from above. There is minimum 2" clearance, actually closer to 2.5" no problems.
:)
Hope this helps.

Pcmcobra that system looks great I agree w/ boatpuller that your a-arm will hit first.
Malo83 you can get the shorty edelbrock w/ a.i.r. from lmc, they hook to your stock exhaust if you want to do a piece at a time.

Re: Got exhaust installed

see now those headers would allow me to do my 3" single unmuffled smotke-stack-type with a flapper valve exhaust, but no, I had to have some car long-tubes that exit on the sides of the tranny so I can't run a Y-pipe or even an H-piped for my current duals...
