Rear shock location?
 

Was just wondering which would be the better location for my rear shocks. It would be easier to mount them off the lower link bar as opposed to making another bracket to come off the back of the axle. I already have my bags mounted to the bar but still have room for the shock.
I'm not trying to do it the easy way, so is one way better than the other?

I'd mount them to the arm because it'll give you slightly more total travel.

If you run the shock on the front side of the axle then the shock will travel less then if it was on the backside. This will allow you to get a shock with a shorter collasped and extended heigth range. By angling the lower shock mount slightly forward when it comes time to install the shock it will also give you more options in shock lengths.
You can use a U shaped lower bracket that has the tabs going parallel with the lower bar. On the upper I'd run a thread bung that you could weld to the side of the notch, and have the bolt screw into it. That way the shock will be able to pivot back and forth as the suspension travels up and down. You might want to add a small gusset to the threaded bung since the shock will be applying some force to it when it travels up and down as well.
