Re: Pics of the New motor installed.
That looks fantastic! Congratulations.
Not to rain on your parade, but you'll want to dump that Edelbrock foamie air filter and get a good high-flow 14" diameter 3" tall unit. It looks cool...but it's a lousy filter both for filtration and airflow. |
Re: Pics of the New motor installed.
Looks good to me!:metal: . Everybody is going to tell you your truck is going to burn to the ground with that air cleaner;)

Re: Pics of the New motor installed.
Can't go wrong with that factory crate motor in my opinion. Looks nice to me. You should have painted that firewall while the motor was out though.

Look on the Big Race Cars with carb SBCs...14" element 4+" high. This is one of those cases where there's pretty much One Right Answer - rare, but it happens :) |
Re: Pics of the New motor installed.
That looks great!!
I will eventually go the crate 350 route with my build. Can you give some specs on your motor including... Horsepower? Where you bought it? Is it turnkey? Price including shipping? Did you do a lot of shopping around before you decided on this engine? Thanks for any info!!! |
Re: Pics of the New motor installed.
I had that air cleaner in my '82 truck, caught fire and I couldn't get the hood open, finally got it open, put the fire out and drove it home. Still starts and runs, but scared me, I was at lowes and it was full of lumber.

Re: Pics of the New motor installed.
Horsepower? RATED AT 260HP-350FT...(HAVNT GOTTA RUN IT HARD YET BUT FEELS REALLY STRONG)
Where you bought it? JEGS Is it turnkey? NOPE BUT YOU CAN GET A PARTS PACKAGE TO GO WITH IT FROM THEM THAT MAKES IT A COMPLETE PACKAGE Price including shipping? AROUND 1600, |
