After spending the entire week looking for a decent used small block and not finding one at almost any junkyard around here, i finally settled on a 4 bolt 350 from a '77 van paid a little more than what i think it was worth but oh well.

also priced out a gear change at a local 4wheel drive shop and was quoted $630 that seems like an insane amount to me. is this par for what it costs to have this done??

also in my travels today to find the motor I found a 70 1 ton that is about a week from getting crushed. lot's of cool doo-dads. and power brake set up . i'll be heading back for that stuff soon!
