Just gauging interest. We are going to offer Polished Stainless Steel front bumpers for 1947-54 pickups. We have not set a price as of yet. Any of you interested in stainless ones?

I would be interested if the bumper came with the bolts welded on the backside and shaved on the front side.

I would agree with youngrodder on the smooth bumper. How about a rear also? Will they be made in the US?

Thats a good idea for the smooth bumper. I will check into that. Would not be that hard to do. We will also see about the 45-53 rear. Not much difference. They are being made overseas. Be back

I also like the idea of a stainless bumper for the 55-59, but can you imagine how heavy that bumper would be? I've thought about going with no chrome and brush-finishing all my trim parts, and a stainless bumper would be awesome for just that look.

I smoothed my own, I just would need to get it re-chromed. I have always been surprised that I have not seen other people doing the same.

The panel that mounts above the front bumper needed to be modified slightly to line up the the bolts that were welded in. Maybe there are issues with re-chroming.

Here is a pic of my bumper. Due to my frame and gas tank location I can not run a rear bumper. I had to go with a roll pan. Otherwise I would say yes, front and back bumpers should be shaved.

Ok update
Getting them without bolt holes no problem. We may have to weld the bolts on and repolish. will be back

Please consider some supports for those mounting bolts that are welded to the backside, sometimes they take a little 'finess' to lign up the brakets!
Let us know on the price.

Ok, It looks like we can sell the bumpers for $185.00 with or without bolt holes. They can't deliver any without holes until the next production run however. They do not want to weld bolts on back as they are not tooled up to do that. I may try to see how hard it is to polish any discolor out off the front w/o it without taking forever. Maybe someone here knows.
