suspension questions
 

ok well ive got a question concerning my 82.

something ive noticed in a chevy duty book for like older chevys. is the mustang II suspension package and the superide II suspension package. now they got the superide II package listed her for as late as 1954. now do they have this type setup for the 80s models? or something like it whould it be worth doing if so?


whould somethign from about a 82 or so camaro work?

just kind of curious ive heard of using the mustang suspenion before on older pick ups hotrods an what not just curious if it couldnt be done and what all whould be involved in doing so for a 1982 chevy short bed

well whould it do for better handling? is that why they hav the set ups? im just really curious is the main thing if it could be done. ive heard bout it an seen the stuff in like the chevy duty book.

The older trucks didn't come with the set up like the newer trucks. They had a straight "axle" front end. If you have ever seen the rear of a front wheel drive car they have the same "axle" in the rear. It is basically and I-beam for the suspension to mount to.

ok i see well as soon as i can ill get pics of my 82 up. ive not done a thing to it like i should have but other things have happend etc...

im thinkin bout like powdercoating the a arms chrome along with the springs. i got to thinkin about this lastnight it whould probily look sharp. i know a guy here has a powdercoating buisness.

now the assend of my pickup has a 12 bolt rearend in it. an its got some overloads sets up kinda high in the assend. i wanna lower it the front is fine i cant even cawl under the front. right now there is no motor in it so course thres no weight in the front. but when the motor was u could till the assend was higher what could i do about doin this lowering the rear

Which is exactly what I wanna put in my truck - IFS is for cars and street trucks, for work trucks it should be the KISS principle that applies :D
