I'm in search of a tailgate for my 71 Chevy c20 longhorn. It has the stamped CHEVROLET. Someone told me that you cannot get replacement (overseas) gates with it stamped .... copyright issue.

Anyone know a dealer that would have good used parts?

actually, I am pretty sure you CAN get one with the stamping.
But I wouldn't want it. I would search for a nice used one myself.

They Bow real easy and will not stand up to normal abuse that an original tailgate from the factory would. There are many dissatisfied people on here and they will tell you to find a nice original used one. Repos are best for show trucks. Hope that helps.

just keep looking in the classified section or better yet subscribe to the board and post a wanted to buy ad// theres always swapmeets and shows they're not that hard to find if you spend the time and effort

You can get the Repro tailgates with the chevrolet letters. We sell them as well as most all the vendors on this board.

This is my spare! Every now and then a NOS gate shows up. I guess it's just a matter of being in the right place at the right time (and having a little folding money in your pocket:lol: )
