Tire Fitment Question

We are going to have to buy new tires very soon for my wife's 2002 Durango. It has 265-75-16s on it which is the same size of tire that my 2003 Z71 Silverado came with.

My tires only have just over 15,000 miles on them, and I'm thinking about upgrading my truck to a 285-75-16 if they will fit with no rubbing, then put my tires on the Durango.

Does anybody know if a 285 will fit without rubbing? It appears just by looking that I have room for a bigger tire. The 265s don't fill the wheelwells up completely. I just wondered if anybody here has run a 285 on the 99 and up trucks without any rubbing. ...Joe

I run 285 on my D- max I had to crank the Tbars up a little but the rid fine. I would take pics but I have put a KMA bumper on the front now so I have even more room.

Re: Tire Fitment Question

I see people running 285/75s on the`99-ups and some say no cranking the "T"s was needed. But,they prolly didn`t have diesels.I`ve been running them on`88-ups for year with diesels, crankes t-bars,and the little bumper filler removed. With 8" wheels it gets a bit tight at time and`ll rub.
