Wanted: Divorced style choke for Q-jet
I just got done having my orginal q-jet rebuilt for my truck and was told the only thing I need to replace is a Divorced Style Choke. the description is it looks like a long rod with a coil spring on the end? I tried looking for a pic on the net but came up short. I was told by my rebuild guy it has to be off a Q-jet that was on a Big block. If anyone has a parts Q-jet and wants to sell me this I would be grateful. if you have an intact q-jet with choke and want to let it go let me know also. I will buy a complete unit but would rather just buy the part.
Someone has to have one collecting dust they hauled off their 400 72 Big block. Thanks.:metal: |

Thanks for looking J, and see if I only need the choke the dirt dobbers will still have a good home. |

Re: Wanted: Divorced style choke for Q-jet
sweet! Thanks 71 Super. I talked to my carb guy and he says the only way to tell is it had to have come off a Big Block. He says the rod lengths differ from small to big.

You also need to know what year it's on. The way they bolt to the intake is different. I think 68-70 are the same and 71/72 are alike. The earlier years have a high rise intake. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow.

Re: Wanted: Divorced style choke for Q-jet
Thanks Uncle.
It's on a 72 400 BB. from what I can find on line the linkage rod is the part I can't find. anyone taken a stock intake off a big block and replaced it with a performer intake. seems you would have had to buy a different length and have the orginal sitting around? anyone know how long the one I need is? can't find a length listed on the net. If you do get that pic I would apreceate it uncle. any and all help/suggestions are welcomed. 71 Super I looked for Danchuk in the member listing and can't find him. the name sounds familier as if I have seen it while cruising the boards. |
