Question On Lowering
Hey Everyone,
I Have A 72 Chevy That I Am Wanting To Lower. I Am Not Wanting To Go To Low Though. I Am Wanting To Run 22x9 Rims In Front And Rear. I Just Dont Want A Hugh Gap Between The Tire And The Fender. I Was Thinking About Running 45 Series Tires. What Does Everyone Recommend. I Was Looking At Some 4-6 Inch Drops. I Am Not Wanting To C-notch The Rear And I Do Not Want To Worry About The Bed Hitting The Axle. I Also Looked At A 2-4 Inch Drop What Do You Think About This. This Is The One I Was Thinking Of Doing Will It Be Low Enough With 22's Or Do I Need To Go A Little Lower Let Me Know Thanks |
Re: Question On Lowering
personally, if your not tucking those 22's, it's gonna look goofy...

Re: Question On Lowering
Maybe he's building a Donk, without the lift kit
http://www.rims-n-tires.com/info_specs.jsp That link will tell you about how tall the tires should be, that way you can measure what you have and compare the difference Just for comparison, my truck has 235/75R15's on it now & they're 28.9 inches tall (so round that to 30") The tires I estimated you running 275/45R22's would be 31.8 inches tall (so round that up to 32") So go and measure from the ground up 32 inches & see how much taller that is than what you have now, lets just say your tire now is a 30" tire & you want to put a 32" tire on it You'll be raising the truck up by one inch & have one inch less space between your tire & fenderwell Hope this helps, Matt http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...7_09040035.jpg |

Re: Question On Lowering
I doubt you'll be able to clear a tire 32" tall with a 6" drop in the rear. It's gonna rub on something, probably the wheelwell.
