Shipping Charges

I always charge actual shipping on anything I sell here, every once in a
while it may vary + or - $1, can anyone explain something like this ? ? ?

Blazer Part http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-...spagenameZWDVW

I'm at 38313 and it says over $100 to ship it, seems a lil bit excessive

size and weight plus fuel surcharge for companys it adds up quick and hits us all hard. i,vee noticed if you can take it straight to a terminal and ship things its alot cheaper. never use a shipping company they add a bunch, charge your for materials and handleing chgs. even a ups store does it.

ebay is not very good at UPS math! I see a lot like that. Was going to bid on a pair of sbc aluminum valve covers the other night, until I saw $38 for shipping...

It could be that he did not change his shipping settings from a prior big item. I have done that before, but always caught it before I finished the listing. Someone should at least contact the guy and make sure that it is correct. If he really is trying to get that much for shipping, then he is just is marking up his shipping to make money with out paying eBay on his final value fee. eBay has really tried to crack down on this lately and wants people who are doing it to be reported.

Also a lot of poeple will put the shipping cost high to make up for any loss in the sell. I had some !@#$ try to charge me $75 for 4 diecast cars that would of cost, oh at worse case $5 to ship. I emailed the seller and asked if he mistyped $7.50 for $75. So in return he said congrats you can read if you don't like the shipping charges, don't bid!

I see fenders listed for .99 and the shipping is around $150. Maybe this isn't this case, but it sure looks like it to me.

Re: Shipping Charges

If the shipping is not fair I simply do not bid.
Shipping charges have gone thru the roof in the last 2 years & UPS is not the bargin that it once was. I shipped out a manifold and a pair of Mickey Thompson valve covers, 2 boxes, and in both cases UPS was the most expensive. DHl was the least. The blazer part is most likley tagged as oversize because of its weight also. The term UPS uses is deminsonal wt.

Ebay also does not charge anything against the shipping fee, only the sale . The seller may sell for less and get more for shipping. Ebay takes less and the seller gets more than with a higher bid.

Fire wall wont let me go to ebay but I tried to ship a blazer window frame from TN to IN and it was over 100 I was told any thing that is over 3ft was going to be in the $100 range now. kinda sucks. I sent a d60 to Ca 2 years ago for $250 I tried to send a d44 to the same place a few weeks ago and the cheapest I couold find was $500. Shipping is just getting crazzy

Re: Shipping Charges

I was curious, so I sent him a message asking if it was a mistake. My shipping to VA would have been $108. He answered me almost right away and said "sorry, it's a mistake. I fixed it." Sure enough, now it's $31 for shipping.
If you buy it, we'll split the money I just saved you, okay?
