It only takes one to get my Blazer top off
3 Attachment(s)
Check it out, I did this over the weekend. Now I do not have to wait for my friends to come over and help. This only take me 1/2 hour to do by my self.
How do you all do it? |
Re: It only takes one to get my Blazer top off

I already put hooks into my ceiling for something similar with lifting beds, but i want to know where you found those locking tackle rope blocks please. I do mine with rachet sraps and it takes forever. i work mostly alone also. thanx , crossy

Re: It only takes one to get my Blazer top off
That's a good idea. I had the same problem with mine and ended up getting a soft top so I would not have to wait for someone to come over to help me remove it. My hard top has been sitting in a field for like 5 years now.

Re: It only takes one to get my Blazer top off

Re: It only takes one to get my Blazer top off
Still looking....now though, I've expanded my search from just 70-72 all the way up to 78 :metal:

Re: It only takes one to get my Blazer top off
reminds me of a nice Blazer locally that runs around without its top... has a sticker across the front top of the windshield says "Go topless"
|
Re: It only takes one to get my Blazer top off
I use to do that using ratchet straps and eye bolts in the garage ceiling on my 72 Blazer. Worked great, sit in the front seat push the front up and attach hooks to the tabs that bolt it to windshield frame. Jump out lift back, and hook to the ears that mount to top. It hung about 2in from bed rail. The trick was pulling into garage. That's when I used to drink. Real precision driving skills were needed.... Great Job!!!

Re: It only takes one to get my Blazer top off
Travis, that is sweet and perfect but I'm worried about the replies of those that haven't popped the top off their K5 yet. ??? Bust it off and go for a ride, it's what makes a K5 sweet.
I haven't been around, but not because my project has stalled. Well, it has stalled sorta - I'm not sure yet if I'm going to rebuild the small block or do a 454. <shrug?> I'll know soon. ;) |

I'm one of those people that haven't taken the top off yet,and I've had mine for 3 years.I keep telling myself I'll do it,but never get around to it |
Re: It only takes one to get my Blazer top off
come on guys its what? six 1/2in bolts on each side and 5 across the top and its off. easy as pie except for lifting it off. stop giving excuses and just go topless already hahahaha
