advance curve kit bushings

I purchased a Mr Gasket HEI Advance Curve Kit #929 to rebush and spring my distributor. The kit comes with two types of bushings: a simple cylinder and a cylinder with a base on it. The simple cylinder bushing fits on the distributor weight pins with a lot of play, not "snug" as the instructions state. The cylinder with a base bushing does not fit on the distributor weight pin at all. I can push on the bushing as hard as I feel comfortable and it will not go on. In addition, the bushings are too large for the holes in the stock weights. Do I have the incorrect kit or is there a trick to this?

just my $.02...... dont use mr, gasket at all. i have purchased numerous things from their company and none of them fit at all or required major modification to fit. i purchased a carb spacer(bolt pattern was 1/4'' off) air cleaner spacer(1/2 off in diamiter) alternator bracket( adjusting slot was not open enough to alow the provided bolt to fit through) valve cover gaskets(bolt pattern was off) you get the picture
