Vin location 1971?
 

Ok,I am looking at buying a 1971 cheyenne for parts.Truck has title but where is the vin tag?----it is severely rusted in the door jam.My 69 has the vin tag right under the door latch.Any help appreciated.Thanx:confused:

I kinda figured -----this door pillar is rusted right up to the GVW tag---apparently the pillar and tag rusted away long ago----surprising as the rest of truck really isnt that bad.:o thank you KW

the GVW tag IS the VIN tag on 70 and newer trucks. Take a closer look. On some, the number was just painted onto that plate, others, it was stamped.
