Frame differences?

I figured I would post in here since I might find a few people that know the answer. I currently have a frame from 84-87 chevy LWB, and was going to build a truck on that. I previously had a 69, and really love that body style.

How different are the frames and body mounts. Would it be easy to take that 84-up frame and put a pre 72 body on it? I mean I am planning on buying a body anyhow, but if I can get a pre 72 and make it fit with little modification, then I might do that, so I can still build a truck and have what I really want.

Besides the frame and body mounts I think the biggest difference is the wheelbase is longer on the 73 up trucks. I think it is 131"

It can be done, a few here have done it, but it's NOT a direct swap,
and a LWB may be even more complicated. Someone else will chime
in that has more experience doing it. Just keep checking back for it.

On a 2 wheel drive, it's not really worth it. 4X4s seelm to be worth the time due to cost of old ones though.
The frame on a 67 - 72 is pretty much flat from firewall to tailgate, 73 and up, is anything but flat. On a 4X4, you can do a custom body lift, and get away with doing it, but it looks retarded on a 2 wheel drive.
plus, there is the wheel base as mentioned before.

Ah crap. Oh well I guess I will just continue to build the 73-87 generation. One of these days I will get my 67-72 generation again.

Thanks for the input.
