i am considering a small body lift can ya'll help me find some pictures of some trucks with body lifts


my truck is a 72 k10 lwb

and what kits have ya'll used and what to look for
and just ya'lls thoughts on body lifts

Summit racing kit is the one I use its cheap . you can also get a 1in body lift from ORD. The ORD one is the one I like the best after 1 in the gap betweeen the grile and front bummper is to much and looks funny. here is a link to the ORD kit http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog/oneinchlift.htm.

they don't show a kit for my truck but they sell individual blocks or i was thinking of getting a 2" and cutting down 1" not sure yet


here's my truck i was thinking of the 0 rate blocks and a shackle flip anf the upgraded from leaf bushing setup i'd like to run 35's

Just call and tell Steve what you need and he will make it for you he is a good guy to do business with and is like us he builds his trucks he doesn’t just bolt stuff on. Plus hes not the best for adding every thing to his website.

For the shackle flip and 0 rates I would check out DIY4X. his prices on the zero rates are a little better and I like his shackle flip more. But ether way you go you cant go wrong there both great guys to deal with. I had zero rates on that blazer when I went to 38s. I have a set for my burb 2 but I may not need them know I tihnk Im going a diffrent route with the build.

From the pics I’ve seen a 2in doesn’t look bad but a 3 in has a big gap and looks bad IMO.
I think if it was a daily driver and looks were more important then function I wouldn’t body lift it more then 1in. I personally only use body lifts now to help with driveline and engine clearance issues for tire clearance I would add more suspension. You could always do a combo of both 1 in zero rate and 1in body.

If you do put in a BLift I would toss the old rubber mounts and get Poly. I have had a 3" on mine for over 15yrs and w/poly, never had any issues. I don't have stock bumpers so no pics fer ya...also all my mount locations are solid. I have seen some rigs with major rust issues @ the mounts so inspect before you start..

ok i'll check my mounts come morning but iwas looking at lifts and performance assesories makes a 2" "plastic type" block has anyone used this one i read the instructions online and it says to cut my auto linkage and reweld?? and were can i get poly bushings?

Summit raceing is were I got my poly bushings if your going to get a 2in b loift get the summit brand kit its half the price of the name brand kits. with new body bushings you will probly gain an in more lift then you have now.

summit only has a 3" body lift
and poly bushings are only for cab were can i get bed ones too or do i need them?

The bed has metal blocks for the back no bushings to replace.
summit use to have the 2in they must have stopped selling it.

what mods to truck need to be done for a 2" body lift and has anyone else used poly bushings and do ya'll prefer "Prothane" or "energy" bushings

It wasn’t to bad I had to make a little room for the steering shaft were it came through the fender well it rubbed just a little but not bad. You will also if you have an auto trans need to make the shift rod a little longer or change to a cable shift. You will need to unclasp the steering shaft some. After I installed mine I kept breaking rag joints do to the angle of the steering shaft too the steering box. I ended up getting a flaming river u joint and doing a way with the rag joint. If you have time to go to a salvage yard you can save cash by getting the small steering shaft of an 80s van it has u joints from the factory you can then use your shaft to make the van shaft longer. Other then that just watch for your wiring and the break lines as you raise it up so nothing snags. The only other thing you may have trouble with is the fan shroud your fan may hit it after the lift so it’s a good time to go electric.
There all made out of the same stuff just diffrent brand name . there is a diffrenc in metrial in the black and red for the body it doesnt matter that much but the black is self lubing or something there was a post on the diffrence in the burb section not long ago.
