Possible bent frame?
Ok guys hopefully I can get some help with this. I have a 61 4x4, had a d44 closed knuckle axle in it and it pulled to the right bad. Checked everything from the brakes dragging and did my own driveway alignment. Didn't help that much. Now for the new. Swapped out the axle for a corp 10 with disc brakes, put new bushings on the springs all new brakes from calipers to rotors, pads and new warn lockouts. It still pulls to the right. I'm not talking a gradual pull, I'm talking let go of wheel and your in the ditch!!! I have also put new wheel bearings while everything was apart. I'm thinking the frame is bent but I can't find a place where it looks bent. Could this be a posibility? Or maybe the axle is not square? I'm getting so frustrated with this thing because it drives like S@@T!!! Any help is appreciated.

Re: Possible bent frame?
Did the body panels all line up on it?Anything look damaged? If you have access,Measure front frame horn drivers side to passenger side rear frame and vise versa and see if the measurements are the same. That would tell you if the frame was bent.

Re: Possible bent frame?
Yea the body panels line up good. I'll have to measure that tomarrow on the frame.

Re: Possible bent frame?
Have you taken it to an alignment shop?
It always helps to ahve a fresh set of eyes looking things over, especially when they do it for a living. |
