Re: 71 OCHRE Jimmy

While it is a beautiful Jimmy for sure, I would have a hard time buying it from this guy. It sounds like the real deal, BUT I don't like the sounds of how he came into possession of it. It sound like it bought it from a old lady who had now idea what it is worth. He has not even taken the time to take off the Oregon license plate just because he is in such a hurry to turn it for a fast buck. I could be wrong about this, but it seems fishy to me, and I would not take part in something that took advantage of an old lady no matter how nice the rig is. :m5: Sorry guys, but I just needed to vent a little about this.

This jimmy needs to go to a parts manufacturer so it can be cloned.

Anyone notice the door panels? Shouldn't they have woodgrain at the top? Sorry for being picky, but you wouldn't think they would have been changed w/7900 miles.

Ya never know. They weren't exactly consistent back then. The side trim is just the black, so it may not have had the woodgrain appointments on the interior. No A/C either.

I have seen panels like this before, I believe they were only on Blazers, Jimmys, and 'Burbs.

Any one else notice the "Camper Mirrior Stainless" option on the glove box sticker?? Well, I dont see any camper mirriors, nor do I see any holes from where they were mounted? Can't be original paint on the doors anyway. It sure looks nice though!!! I think it was on ebay about a year or two ago, but from a different seller.

I asked the seller and here is his reply........

Yes, The mirrors were changed. Mr Meyers orderd the Jimmy when he retired to tow a trailer and travel to Florida. So he wanted the camper mirrors. He bumped the mirrors going in / out of the garage, so when I got it the mirriors were damaged. I had a paint shop touch up the doors, and I installed a set of NOS GM sport mirrors.

Re: 71 OCHRE Jimmy

Nice Jimmy highly optioned but I see somethings that don't look consistant. No factory markings under the hood. The front core support is faded in paint compared to the power booster, air cleaner, and radiator hose. Front carpet looks a little more worn than the rest as are the seat belts. I have seen some real survivor upclose camaros. They are consistent in weathing and aging depending on how well perserved. Look at the bronze 71 Blazer in Fla. on ebay. Has 80,000 miles. Its been used but garage kept. Paints , seats etc. everything are consistant. I would want to know exactly what I was getting for that kind of cash!

I have a question. Why is the inside of the hood painted black? Arent they supposed to come the same color as the truck! Anyway just noticing details!:)
