Only chop of the 60-66 that I've seen that doesn't look stupid. Would be better without the bed and the same width rear tires as the front. Still baddass though.

ok yall might beat my a$$ for this but uhhhh.... well i know where a mint condition cab is with absolutely NO RUST WHATSOEVER that i think i can get cheap and im gonna build one of those. im not gonna put a bed but instead a mini flatbed. i dont like most chops cause it looks a little too ghetto for me (no racial offence intended) but that looks more like the old school hot rod/rat rods and i love the look. mine will have a mild 327 and eaither a th350 or 400, or a 4 speed. i just wish i would have kept the 4-spd i had instead of trading it for the th350 going in my truck and just bought the auto outright. it will have the mini flatbed, but i want a rake to it. maybe some wide whites in the back in some smaller whites in the front. i dont want anything REAL fast but i want to be able to get down the road pretty good. im gonna do the same thing as they did with the one in the pic and build a custom frame from the firewall back and use the front frame section from ???? with drop spindles. lemme know what you think and any ideas that would be cool to seperate mine from this one are welcome. mine will be just a weekend cruiser for fun.

Why not use the mint cab for your other build??? Less work. The rat roddish build might be the easier one to build with a less than mint cab.

Well it is different! That is one tiny rear window, it actually looks like a rear view mirror. I would really like to see the finished product.

i think that was a big window 64 cab and turned it into a tiny window cab. i think that is the finished product. i mean it is a ratrod after all. hey john, use your not-so mint cab if you are going to build your self a ratrod and use the better cab on your truck if you are going to go pick up that mint cab. just my 2 cents

Yeah, wow... me too. First chopped "one of our" trucks that looks wicked. As for finished product, if it is, then it must be show (or race?) only, I am not seeing head lights or tail lights.

I have to wonder about actually driving it, though. There isn't much cab space in a "full size" 64, so with the top chopped down and the bottom chopped up (?) a lot of vertical sitting space is gone, and the cab isn't long enough to do a laydown indy style seating arrangement. Maybe you just sit with yer head sticking out the top? (Finally a use for those ol' WWII goggles.)

Is the radiator in the rear?

How about posting those pics in LARGE format over in that new picture place here? I'd love to add those to my screen saver/slide show.

I think it's what you get if you cut out all the typical rust areas on our trucks,Run out of money for replacement panels,but have plenty of gas and wire and spare sheet metal,weld 'er all back together VOILA! one wicked ratrod oops I mean alterative transportation.LOL
I mean really though that's one very,very imaginative builder there.
It's currently on Ebay at the moment
Definitely an eyecatcher.

The rat rod in the picture was put together in a little town in Indiana (Urbana) by a custom shop called iron customs (Owner Jim Hall)....................The cab was a small window cab and was not in real good shape..............obviously most of the rust on the bottom was cut away and it's a true RAT..................the motor is a 454 built by a fellow board member.....................It is on e-bay right now but i don't know the sale number..................They displayed it at the ducktail rum in gas city, Indiana and had a crowd around it most of the time there.................Just thought you guys would like to know a little more about it...........Hemmit
