I have seen several trucks that have 95+ dashes in em. I recall that the biggest issues were related to getting the air box stuff to work, and the electrical to get all of the gauges working properly.

I have no idea where I found this picture so I hope the owner doesn’t get peeved. Not that these are great pictures or anything….

Anyway, this is a picture of a 73-87 in the build process with what appears to be a 1997 – 2000 GMT 400 C/K dash. The guy installed a late model L31 5.7L while he was at it too.

Looks pretty swanky to me. I like..... Late model powertrains and interiors are cool. Nice clean job this guy did.

That is / was a forum member's truck. He had a tahoe that got wrecked, so he put the engine, wiper pump, overhead console, and a set of 2500HD aluminum wheels on. It is a 74 GMC truck that everything is installed into. He used to have a website that showed some of the work involved with building it...

I geuss Im more traditional. I love the 99+ dash.....in a 99+ truck
one of the things I like about older cars & trucks, is the factory old dashes. I have a friend that modified the dash in his 66 Chevelle with all Autometer gauges, I personally think he got rid of one of the nicest looking dashes GM ever produced. but its just me. I do however agree about the 88-95 dashes are some of the fugliest, but they can be spruced up pretty easily.

Agreed 100%

I love my old dash, and being that it's still in good shape minus a few small cracks, I plan on keeping it for a while. I'll change up the guages a little here and there, but the overall design is staying the same!

i like my original dash fine, especially with the 91 blazer cluster and side gauges. Now I just need a nice dash pad...

Re: any1 ever used the dash out of a later model truck?

So, other than pictures, has anyone on here done this??? I'll have the entire truck to swap stuff over from. Wondering about how it fits as far as width and height. Wondering what modifications to the truck or late model dash have to be made.

Any help would be GREAT!!
