Lift Help
I have a K10 lifted 4 inches, now I don't know what to do about the park brake cables hangers clips, etc. Please let me know what you have done or seen done. about all i can think of is to relocate the rear cable slots and to make an intermediate cable?

When I lifted my 69 K20 4" initially I just had to adjust the nut on the threaded rod to make it a bit longer. Is that possible for you?
If not, what about getting a coupler and a short piece of all thread to make it longer? |

I'll post some pics to explain... The cable from the rear axle that runs up to the bracket on the inside of the frame just in front of the x-member is too short, about 6 inches to short, or maybe just 4.

I remember mine not working out, and I got a 12" extention cable form some kind of longbed F@rd at the JY.

I didn't do the lift, PO did it before I bought it, but I have 4" blocks in the rear and it seems alittle tight but works. If you measure your cables, I'll tell you what size lenght mine are and you can go from there. It might give you a reference point to start with. I doubt my PO changed e-brake cables.... J.

I did a 6" lift on my 72 and had the same problem. I ground off the rivits on the cable brackets and moved them back on the frame as far as they woud go and bolted them there. I thenhad plenty of slack

After a 4” ORD rear shackle flip (6” total lift) my ’78 rear brake cables were majorly streeaattchhed. My buddy fabricated and welded these brake cable bosses on for me while I torqued the U-bolts. They work great.
It would seem this would work on a 67-72 as well. |
