Brake Proportioning Valve?

Is this a stock or aftermarket item?
I put 6" on my truck, will that affect this contraption? Should I get rid of it?
It is attached to the rear pumpkin on the bottom, has a connecting rod with 2 pivot points, and inline with the rear brakes.

It is factory. that is typical of 3/4T up trucks. When load is applied the lever changes the valving to the brakes for added stoping power.

Putting a lift will make it non-operational, you can remove it.

Hello,

If you do remove it, do you want to part with it? I am building a K30 project and was considering one.

Thanks,

Why not just use longer connecting rod? When jacking up the rear of my Lincoln the air-assist sensor came about 1" short, it would keep the vent solenoid open all the time cause it though car has just been unloaded from some heavy stuff, I made me a a new longer connecting rod and now the air-assist works like a charm with the new taller coils. Well this thing here ain't no air-ride height sensor, but it is a heigh sensor nevertheless, so it can be brought back to specs with minimal effort.

Or was your point that after lift truck's probably not gonna get loaded too much so the system ain't really needed?
