Diecast or plastic model
Does anyone know where i can find any or have one they would like to sell??
My gf had a 70 c10 bbc short fleet side that she had to sell years ago. she is in the process of trying to get it back. Her bday is coming up and i know she would like to have a replica of her truck. soooooo, any 69-72 model kit or diecast!! her truck was white. PLEASE HELP ME!! thanks |
Re: Diecast or plastic model
The plastic kit that is out now is a 72 longbed. Every so ofter you can find a resin short bed on ebay. Sometimes you can also find a resin 69-70 grill for the kit. Most of the dicasts are 72 short fleets...

Re: Diecast or plastic model
There are a bunch of Jada die cast models in just about every color except white. I've never seen a white one. Here is a red one I repainted to match my truck.

Re: Diecast or plastic model
Usually you can find the plastic long bed at WalMart. I have 2 of the dicast shorts, one is solid silver and the other is black and white...

Re: Diecast or plastic model
The AMT plastic kit is available out there in LWB form. It's gonna be real hard to find a short bed. Just buy this kit and shorten the bed yourself.

Re: Diecast or plastic model
look on ebay for highway 61 die cast models...they have a couple different years, some have been discontinued others are still current..and prices vary..but super nice models, everything opens and its very realistic here is an example

Re: Diecast or plastic model
I can`t get over how Danbury Mint missed it`s mark with that model.I couldn`t believe they put cab lights and blackwalls on a CheyenneSuper. That wasn`t exactly typical and certainly not prefered. The full wheelcovers came with whitewalls,if they wanted to be correct.
I never see these Dub trucks in any stores. What stores would carry these? |

Re: Diecast or plastic model
Has anybody seen a 67 or 68 model? I just secured a 68 longbed and want to build it in scale before I do it in real size lol

Re: Diecast or plastic model
This 1970 kit is the earliest I have seen in a while for that series of truck:
http://cgi.ebay.com/1970-Chevrolet-F...item4cf7818985 There are usually some promo models available on eBay, like these 1968's, but they are usually priced beyond the casual hobby budget. Also many of the early promos were made out of a plastic that warped badly. http://cgi.ebay.com/1968-CHEVROLET-C...item5d2e140bad http://cgi.ebay.com/1968-CHEVY-FLEET...item5d2e1469aa |
Re: Diecast or plastic model
I just picked up one like the guy on here, bit not the dub version. I also researched a few of these threads and found a guy who is molding his own. I'm ordering on from him, but it looks likes a bare basic, no wheels, motor or "glass". I think I'm gonna do the front end of the plastic with the body of the metal one and detail the Hell out of it. I have a few old models from my late teens I never got around to. I guess nows the time!

Re: Diecast or plastic model
Truckstops like pilots and TA are great places to find the DUB trucks.
