Installing bikini top w/ snaps

Question for those who have installed soft tops with snaps on the windshield frame. Can you still install the hard top? Will it fit over the snaps tightly? Any other options or suggestions for installing the soft top without drilling?

You use the screw in type of snaps and remove them before you put the hard top back on.

I don't take the screws out before putting on the hardtop and never noticed a problem with the fit...but maybe that's because everything else has a problem:(

I never take the snap halves off to put my hard top on either.and no leaks. at least not there.

Yes, the hard top will still fit correctly.

For a couple years when I drove mine as a daily, I would remove the snaps and silicone each screw hole thinking it would make a difference...

VT, I've been doing the same thing. I guess I've been wasting my time.

I dunno, can't hurt.

I'd still be doing it most likely if I were driving one year 'round.

I must be the only one that has problems with the buttons interfering with the hard top. I get a nice gap at the windshield with the hard top on and the buttons in. I have to remove them for a good fit. I am sure that a lot of it has to do with where you place them.

Do you have a bikini top that you just installed the snaps or is it a best top/kayline that you put the snaps in according to the instructions?
