81-87 dash pad in 79 ?
 

Hi folks. I was wondering if a pad from an 81-87 would fit and work in my 79. Found a perfect pad to match my interior color in the JY for $25. Thanks for the help in advance!

Yes it'll fit, I have a 81+ in my '73.

the only problem will be that if you have a 79 the vin tag should prolly be on the door pillar whereas on the 81-87 it was on the dash.. If it bothers you you will notice the original cab color through the windshield where the dash panel has the hole.. you can prolly cover that easy enough tho

79-up have the VIN on the dash. It may even be 78.

For those interested I have put the early, 79 pad in the 81 cab that I have installed on my 79 chassis. The dash is the same except the 81 has provisions for small speakers in each corner. 81 pads and above are shaped different on top and have provisions to allow the sound out of the speakers.
