67-72 panel truck?

The other day i saw a 72 c20 panel truck and thought it was pretty cool. Are they rare? Id like to see some pictures of them. thanks

They're semi rare. They have semi low production numbers and most of them where long ago worked to death. They were only made form 67-70 mostly replaced by vans which business found more useful than the classic panel... I have a 67 panel, took me awhile to find it but I absolutely love it. There should be a pictures post of burbs/panels on this forum with a bunch of each.

But... if you look at the pic of the sticker in the door it has a different code. is it a vin? because it says 1970?

1970 was,in fact, the last year for panels.I want to say yes to your GMC question. But,at the moment I can`t recall seeing one.Could be bad memory, though.

If you look under the picture area of the auction where the "questions from members" area is the guys says "it's a 70 sorry for the typo"

I cant see how he could type the wrong vin and item description. I think he was trying to pull a scam.

Re: 67-72 panel truck?

Also, i know these trucks came as a 3/4 ton, but did they come as 1/2 and 1 ton? and what is the wheelbase on them? 127"? like the longbeds and suburbans?

Longhorn Man 11-23-2007 11:37 PM

Re: 67-72 panel truck?

1/2 ton yes, 4X4 in both 10 and 20 series, no one tons, and yes, 127 inch

Re: 67-72 panel truck?

For years all these trucks were refered to by many as`72s,kinda generic. This guy prolly has that habit,I dunno.I doubt it`s a scam. There would be no advantage to giving the wrong year.A guy that knows his stuff would see right through it and those who don`t know,it wouldn`t really matter. You can`t buy what was never made.
For years I got,"Hey,nice`72",no matter which truck I had.
