Arizona newbie here
Hello all! Just purchased a 72 Chevy LWB. I have always wanted this year truck (and believe it or not, I like the look of a long bed over the short). I have alot of work to do to it and am looking forward to the projects. My knowledge is very limited to auto restoration. I have been learning alot from lurking on this board. Seems like there is a great group of people here.

Re: Arizona newbie here
Thanks for the welcome everyone.
Xtreme80- The truck looks better in the picture than in person. The paint is severly messed up! A horrible purple color! I appreciate the offer for help. I may have to take you up on it some day. :o |
Re: Arizona newbie here
good looking truck.
With a little work, that paint issue can be fixed. I'm nother LWB fan. :metal: |

I have been thinking about doing a quickie satin black paint job for the time being until I get to the body work. Here are a few more pics to show the horrible color. The guy I bought it from said that the previous owner shot this purple color right over the top of the factory (green) color. You can tell in areas where the paint is peeling off.
I payed $2,500 for this truck. New items on it that the previous owner bought are: Tires, AC Compressor, dryer, master cylinder, exhaust and headers. It has a rust spot on bottom corner of both doors (looks small at this point), bed has rust all over (replacing with wood bed someday), rust spot on tailgate, right now it looks like the rear bed support (is that what you call it?) is rusted. Rockers look good at this point. 350 is solid as well as tranny. Shifts real smooth. A few mechanical problems getting fixed as I speak. Will be back from the shop with new Radiator, pretty much every gasket on the engine, Eddlebrock carb will be fixed (vacuum leak somewhere), Brakes are at 30-40%. I think I did ok....at least I hope so. |

Re: Arizona newbie here
That would be cool to have an AZ meetup. Would be good to get to know some Chevy guys.
I had a customer yesterday that when I pulled up had a 74 Chevy 4x4 truck (origional owner) and a 69 Blazer 4x4 (that baby made me smile) in the driveway. These were his and his wifes daily drivers. |
