Hello from the new guy.

Hey everyone, I recently took possesion of a 68 GMC. I'm not really new to the 67-72 truck scene as most of my family likes these trucks and has had one, but this is my first time owning one. I'm really excited because I really like this body style of truck. I plan on swaping the grill out for a 68 chevy grill, and a few other things.

Glad you found us, if you haven't had a chance to yet you might want to check out some of the build threads. They can be very inspiring to say the least.:welcome2:

Thanks for the welcome everyone, and also thanks for the link to build threads. There are some wierd things about my truck that I want to see if they are original. Also I forgot to mention I'm assuming my truck started as a long bed, but it got cut to a short bed with only a 5' box. I will post pics later this week.

Here are some pics from the day it was picked it up. I need to raise the bed so it will sit in the right position. I know it looks pretty strange. I kinda wish it was a regular short bed fleetside, but it will work.

Oh yeah, see how the rear window is three pieces. The ends of the window are shaded and center is not, anyone know whats up with that. And it has a lever under the steering column that hooks up to werner "box''. Also the truck has 82,000 miles, kinda funny cause my 98 Z28 has 90,000 miles and is 30 years newer.
