Yeah I knew it was but what pita.

EBAY canceled his account and let me relist but still...

Is this becoming the norm for EBAY?

I got another one today;

"Hello,
Am interested in buying this item.I would like to purchase it with the BIN but before i continue with the transaction i wouldl like to ask you some few question
(1) What is the final price of the item?

(2) Would you consider a Certified Cashier's Check or money order as a mode of payment?"

I have no doubt this is a scammer to but is there anyway to keep new users from being able to bid on stuff?

I charge foreigners $50 for winning without OKing their bid with me first. If they have 95'% or better, I let em bid, and work with them on shipping. So far they all have been a pleasure to work with, and more than happy to pay a little extra for overseas shipping.

As for the spammers, I recommend requiring immediate payment with BIN.

It may work in your favor if you can send the runner up a second chance offer at BIN price? Let Ebay know right away, and they will refund your auction fee and cancel his account.

Another useful thing to add is payment options.Just specify exactly what types of payment you will accept.

????? Sometimes I can be a little slow, but if I got this right, the guy bought something from you and wants to send you a cashiers check. Right? So why would there be a remaining balance, or is that the scam???????? I have read this thing 3 times and it still dont make sense.

The scammer wants to send a bogus payment in the form of a check or in this case a bogus cashiers check, they also tend to be very generous adding an unusually high amount "for your trouble" and all they ask is that you return an amount that you feel is reasonable to them.

In other words I agree to buy your snipe for 500 dollars but I am going to send you a check for a thousand dollars and ask that you take care of the snipe packaging and shipping and in return for doing that you keep whatever you think your time and effort was worth,

So you deposit my hot check and then turn around and send me 3 or 4 hundred dollars or whatever, thinking that you really screwed me over when in fact I know my check wont clear and I just in fact screwed you.

I am guessing that the cashiers check would work the same way.

So uh....?....has someone actually sent an item to a buyer with out getting the check cleared? I mean I dont want to put anyone down, in anyway, but sending an item before the check clears, just seems........?........ I dont know???? Not very prudent. Thanks for explain it that though.

Well I actually didn't even think about somebody possibly sending an item that they haven't been paid for.

I can't say that I haven't done it because I have, but it was with people that I had dealt with previously.

The problem is the check will clear your bank, it typically takes a few weeks for them to realize it's a scam, then they get the money back out of your account. So you are out of luck.

Thanks krue. The only "scammers" that I have had to deal with were the crack heads that would come by the auto repair shop I worked at and try to sell you tools that they stole from the other shops in the area. I got lazy one day when I got back from lunch and didnt put my fishing pole back in my truck. Like 2 hours later it was gone.
