Nice looking single wall top in Indiana, the same guy has a NOS tailgate also. It will be interesting to see what it goes for.

Will someone please explain Ebay bidding to me. The bidding went from $19 to $365 to $368. What gives? The reserve still isn't met, so they didn't know what it was. Where did those numbers come from?

The Reserve...is the lowest price the seller will accept for the item up for sale....but this is not shown. If the sellers max is $110, the seller can start at any price below his reserve such as $19.

Your bid...if the present bid is $50 and you are willing to pay $100, then bid $100 and the price that will show would be $53 or whatever the increments are, because you are at that moment the highest bidder.
Someone else then bids $60...then your bid would automatically go to $63 because you put a max of $100 bid in...it will only go to the next level in this case $63. As long as the other bidders bid below you max bid you will be the highest bid. If someone bids $105...then you lose out because your max bid was $100 and the other bidder has passed you max bid. You have the option of bidding higher if you chose to do so. Once bidders meet the sellers reserve price the post will say..."Minimum bid met" and you will win the item unless someone out bids you before the auction ends. Ok I think I'm getting confused. :crazy:

look at the item on ebay. click on the blue writing where it says "3 bids" It shows that three people have bid on the tailgate. The first guy bid a maximum of $100. The second guy bid a maximum of $363. The third guy has bid $368. It's not higher because the Reserve has not been met so $368 is all the third bidder has bid. If the third bidder had bid over the Reserve, the bid price would have gone up to the reserve value. If there was no Reserve, the last bidder could have bid much higher but Ebay would not have showed you that price. Ebay would only show the incremental value over the last bidders high bid. In the case of no Reserve, the incremental price would then become the final value of the item if no one else bid. When there is a Reserve, the seller does not have to sell until the bid price equals or exceeds the reserve value.

It will probably bring $500 at least, just guessing. I sold 3 of them 3 years ago for $400 each and one for $600

That's only a short drive from me...I might have to keep my eye on that top..if it goes cheap enough it would make a good donor to make a redneck half cab for the K/5..

If you are patient you could probably get a double wall for free, and save this single wall for the folks who want them whole.

Well I am bidding on the top because I really need a single, I'll let you have the doublewalled top I have for $100. I can bring it up when I drop off toomanytoys' truck I am building for him. I'll bring my top, the truck and then pick up this single walled top when I get there, if the bid doesn't get stupid!

This single wall is a little better than my current one..I might use it for the "winter top" and use the old single wall as the half top...

70RS/SS I might not go for this one so I might take you up on your offer.When are you coming here with the 67 stepside?

If I can get Rick's (toomanytoys') truck done it'll be soon, I decided to drop it at a shop for the paint work and that'll speed it up. I was actually hoping Rick might store this top for me!! That or the seller till I get there!! I need a single badly, as my 2wd Blazer is a single walled Blazer, but it came with a double wall sitting on it.

Rick's place is a good 4-5 hours from where the top is at now...If the deal doesn't come through on this one,Jamie72 had a single wall top for $200 I believe.

Just an interesting item I seen couple months ago at the Chickasha, Ok. swap meet. Guy had a REALLY nice original NOS tailgate with the GM sticker still at 85-90 percent legible and the GM box it came in. WAS NOT a thin re-pop. I was half way interested for my '71 4x4 until I asked the price. Reply was a quick "$800.00 bucks, firm or I take it home" At the end of the 2nd day when I was leaving he was taking it home. :chevy:
