System for my 71 Blazer

I just bought a 1971 Blazer that I am finishing up.
I brought it to a car audio place and asked what their recommendation for a system.
Here is what they recommended:
Head Unit - Pioneer DEHP6900UB
Amp - Audison LRX5.1K
Front Speakers - Hertz MLK165
Rear Speakers- Hertz HCX165
Subs- 2-10" Image Dynamics IDQ10
Audio Line Driver - Audio Control Matrix
Pre-Amp Level Controller - Peripheral PRC1

I know that this would be an incredible system, but I don't want to spend close to $4,000 on the components.

I have read reviews on the Pioneer head unit and I want to stay with it.

Can anyone propose another less expensive direction and still get decent sound quality in the Blazer?
I am willing to spend $1500 -2,000 on the components.
I also have a set of new JL Audio TR525-CX (5.25") speakers that I never used in my boat.

Any help appreciated.

For $2000:

Pioneer DEH5901B
ARC Audio ARC6000 component speakers
ARC Audio KS300.4 amp
ARC Audio ARC10D2 subs (2)
ARC Audio PEQ preamp EQ

If you want to add the JL speakers you already have, I would recommend the KS900.6 instead of the KS300.4

Remember to save money for sound deadener as well. It makes a world of difference.

Does that price also include installation and accessories like all the wiring?

If you already have the JL's, you can substitute those as the rears. I agree with AceX for the amps/HU. You can also go without the Pre-amp EQ and add that later if you like. The Amps should have built-in Crossovers in them.

Good Luck

I don't see the Ks Series on Arc's website.
Why the KS900.7 vs KS300.4 for the JL's

The KS series is a revamp of the KAR series. All new for this year.

The KS900.6 has 4 "main" channels and 2 sub channels. It would provide all the power you would need, be easy to hook up, and sound great.

I've heard the KS900.6 and it is just short of God's gift to affordable amps...

Thanks.
I just purchased one for $450.00 shipped.
Part 1 of the system
