move motor back?

What would be the best way to move the motor and transmission back about six inches? I'm guessing new mounts, but what kind and where would I get them?

Dalbers: Why do you want to do this? Do you have any idea at all what your in for? Exhaust issues, firewall issues, drive shaft issues, times 2 if it's FWD. cross member issues, fuel tank issues if it's an 88 or newer. You can "plate in" new perches for the mounts, no big deal BUT, the rest of it??? I'm at a loss here, please fill us in.

Plan on road racing a truck??

If you do this, everything to make it happen will have to be custom made or modified significantly.

I am going to use my 85 frame for a rat rod and want the engine to sit back farther.

what body are u use in? u can use 55 chevy motor mounts that will look ratty
if you move it back 6" you should be able to use cross member for the front mounts like a factory 55 and the bell housing mounts you can make or buy you can get a front motor plate but that will look racey
