Rocker/Torsion Box Replacement
 
Hello, I have began rust repair on rockerpanels, floors & supports has anyone replaced the rocker/torsion boxes with anything other than the replacement boxes? 1972 Jimmy.

Mine were rebuilt before replacements were available. tip---reproductions are a whole lot easier and quicker---ultimatley cheaper then fabing ~~.

I have this pic of someone's creative approach. Again, this was done before there were repops. I'm sure the GM Engineers though a solid box was better than square tubing. I don't think the owner is a board member anymore, so I don't know how well these worked out.

Thanks for the info and the picture the open concept looks good for keeping things clean & dry but as suggested replacement boxes are likely the way I will go. Thanks again.
