Rear Leafs
The PO of my 86 SWB 1/2 ton lowered the truck and I want to put it back to factory height. Which would be easier get another set of leafs or add leafs to the ones on the truck. It now has 3 leafs on each side now want it back up so I can haul stuff without any problems. Which is better 5 leafs or 6?? any help and also he heated the front springs too.

Re: Rear Leafs
It's possible that the rear springs have weakened so I would consider a new set. Do you like the lowered look but want to use it to haul on occasion?
You might consider replacing the rear with lowered springs and add a set of helper bags in the rear. I did this on a few of my lowered trucks and it worked out great. What ever you decide get rid of the front springs. Go with a stock spring if you raise it back up. If not, go with a lowered coil, or a stock coil and dropped spindle. |
Re: Rear Leafs
Thanks for the reply but I like the factory height look and thats what I will do is get a new sets of leafs for the rear and new coils for the front. Where would be the best place to get them for the best price?
