has anybody swapped in late model seats? id like to find out what seat are easy to swap in...thanks guys!!

i actually have been doing alot of digging on this subject. Mine needs a seat of some kind weather bickets or bench.

From what i have found is tha tthe blazier seats will fit in our trucks with the center council also.
and you can even use some of the newer seats out of the truck up till the newer style before this last body change . i was told that you can tell real easy by messuring the floor bod between the doors close in both trucks

Here is what I put in my 86 K-10. It is a seat from a 92 or 93 model truck. It is bolted in the back but I need to find time to take it back out and redo the front mounts. I promise I will take some pics when I get to it.;)

I like that even. Right now mine has some trash in it. the pass side is not bolted at all. So i know i need to do somethign with it. and think im looking more twords a set up like this or the buckets and a center council.
becuse i like to hunt i would love to find the concial out of that doge that heats and cools LOL
Or figure out how to make one do that and still look nice

hmm....that 92-93 seat good and comfy..guess ill have to keep an eye out for one...

Well any 88-98 model seat will work I guess. What I done was adapted the stock 86 seat track to work on the later model seat. The back was not that hard but I am going to have to cut and reweld the front mounts for the seat track to work with the truck. The track that came with the seat was way to tall and, was no where near the mounts in the cab of my 86.

What I like about it is that it has a arm rest. Also it is very comfy.:)

hey after thinking about . I can tell ya how to get most stains out of used seats.

materials
5 gal bucket
Dawn Dish Soap in anysmell ya like
Scrubber brush
wet dry vac
HOT water the hotest you can stand to put your hands in to.


Start Byt taking the Dawn Dish Soap and cover the bottom of the bucket wiht the soap.

Now fill the bucket with water makeing sure to get some sudds.

with your scrub brush get enough water to make it moist and gather enough suds to rub them in to the seat.

scrub viguosley . then wait a few min. (i normally do the whole seat and wait about 15min. )

Then take your wet dry vac and suck out the soapy water.

I have seen this take old coffy stains out and even some kool aid stains. and some blood stais if it is cought fast enough.
But this is a non harsh way to clean the carpets and seats and even spot treat your headliners with out to much of a chance for damege done to them.

Also a great way to get a set of seats cheap LOL
But ya must use DAWN DISH SOAP. I have tried it with others and nothing happend. not sure why

95-98 W/T most likely. I bought it off of Craigslist. My original is shredded and smells like old farmer. HELP!! lol

Nope the 88-98 needs a little bracket work to fit correctly. I am still developing my game plan on my seat.

i figured on cutting and re-welding brackets...id like to get a console or an arm rest..i need something to rest my arm on!!!!!

the only ones i knwo that will are the same years and body styles. will fit with out mods. but what fun is that? LOL


Also somethign i have been digging in to a bit is the idea of useing Fiberglass to build a center council. I have dont this in the past to make a head reast and also for the speacker posds etc... so wha tthe hay.

Here's mine. We cut the brackets and welded a piece of metal strap to it that is bolted to the floor. The seats are from a 98'.

I know this is not the route you would want to go at all but I thought I might share. I put 2003 Ford Escape seats in my '87 chevy pickup. I know it's ford but suprisingly they fit almost perfect. On one of the sliders I had to cut the back leg off, move it up about 1 inch and bolt it back on. After that the seats mounted amazingly good. The ride height and everything was good. The seats are black cloth with grey inserts and they were only $100 with no burns, tears, etc. out of a junkyard.

I looked at everything from 350z seats to '07 dodge, chevy, and ford seats. No telling what you could find but I know the ford escape seats were easy as pie for me and I am no customizing genious. I'm just a broke 22 year old kid who wanted some decent seats. Good luck man!

Also like the ferd seats but i know there are some out there from a monte carlo or a impalla that are nice also. (have the 03 SS monte carlo ) and they are real comfortable for long drives to.

it is nice to see so many others have had to deal with this or chose to.

hey all, this may sound like a stupid question but will factory low back buckets bolt right in to the existing bench tracks?

i spotted these a few days ago.

$75 firm seems fair.


i know a guy that can re-upholster them for a good price, but i really like the look of later model seats too. (94-99 eldorado seats particularly)

i don't have access to a welder and bunch of steel, so i thought this might be an affordable fairly easy project. any feedback is appreciated.

i dont even have the bench seat brakets.

center councils can be used from a Blazier or made and or done in Fiberglass to. there are several choices on that
